The Subclass 190 Visa is a points-tested, state or territory-nominated permanent residency visa for skilled professionals, allowing them to live and work in Australia. Nomination by an Australian state or territory government is a key requirement.
Skilled workers nominated by an Australian state or territory, who meet the points-test threshold (minimum 65 points) and other eligibility criteria such as age, English proficiency, skills assessment, and health and character requirements.
To qualify, you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect. The state or territory assesses your application based on their skill needs and may offer a nomination if your occupation and skills meet their specific requirements.
The points are based on factors like age, work experience, educational qualifications, English language proficiency, and other criteria. Your EOI is ranked according to your points score, and higher scores may improve your chances of receiving an invitation.
You can still apply for the visa if you turn 45 after receiving the invitation. The age requirement is only assessed at the time you receive the invitation to apply.
Yes, applicants must demonstrate competent English through approved language tests such as IELTS, PTE Academic, or equivalent. Higher scores can earn additional points on the points test.
While you are encouraged to live and work in the state or territory that nominated you, the Subclass 190 Visa is a permanent residency visa, giving you the freedom to work anywhere in Australia once granted.

If you do not meet the minimum points threshold of 65, you won't receive an invitation to apply. Consider improving your qualifications, gaining more work experience, or retaking English tests to enhance your points score.
